Bowls Of Rice Eaten
I was born in the US during the 1980’s but lived in several different places growing up. My father, the most inspirational and powerful role model in my life, is a 28 year veteran of the United States Air Force. My family and I lived in New Mexico for a few years before moving to Japan while my dad served active duty in Korea. I learned a good bit of the language and stayed at my grandparents home in southern Japan with my mom and sister. My dad was then relocated to Florida after his Korean tour finished and that is where I spent a good bit of my life to date.
Growing up, I always had a wide array of interests. I was fascinated with aviation, mechanics, electronics, music, and drawing/art. Through different phases in my life, I had many hobbies which included skateboarding, BMX stunt biking, music production, and playing the drums. Some of these hobbies I still enjoy today.
Upon graduating from high school, I attended the University of Florida to study Business Administration and Management with a specialization in Music History/Literature and a minor in Economics from the Warrington College of Business. This is where my intuition and desire to learn landed me in the technology space.
I worked the graveyard shift (12:30a-7a) in the CIRCA Architecture lab and didn’t know much about technology so I forced himself to learn during my breaks. I started to tinker with Photoshop and HTML which led me to become the Web Design Director for the Minority Business Society. This then turned into me being promoted to a Training Coordinator in 2001 to teach UF students, faculty and other interested parties how to build websites. From there, I was offered my first large freelance project for the UF Landscape Architecture conference(FlaBash). I loved working with the board members and helping them attain their vision for their site. I have been building websites and consulting in the web arena ever since(earning the nicknames “Website Will” and “Web Guru”).
I worked in the corporate arena for 12+ years and started my first web design company (Sun Medium, LLC) back in 2005. Since then, I have established two new technology companies; Core Media Concepts and Core Mobile Apps.
In my spare time, you will find me traveling, reading, serving others in any way possible and exploring new cultures all over the world.
